Ridge Augmentation

A ridge augmentation is a common dental treatment. It is often performed following the loss or extraction of a tooth. When a tooth is lost, the alveolar bone is left damaged or exposed. The goal is to prepare the bone for restoration, and not leave an empty socket. We can rebuild this socket area through a bone graft procedure. We remove a small portion of bone from the chin, though donated bone is also available, and place this bone material into the socket. The gum tissue is then closed over the socket. With time, the bone will grow and fill in the damaged portion. Following the augmentation, we may place a spacer to prevent neighboring teeth from shifting.

Leaving an empty socket can cause further problems. Restorative practices, including a ridge augmentation and then the placement of a dental implant, can help keep your jaw healthy and your remaining teeth healthy.

Dental Crown Lengthening

A dental crown lengthening is a procedure that is done to remove excess gum tissue that is covering too much of the surface area of your teeth. The procedure can be used if several teeth are covered by excess tissue or even if one tooth is affected. Typically, the adjacent teeth are also treated, helping to provide a more natural, more aesthetic result. In some cases, we may also need to remove a small amount of bone in the process to provide you with the best results.

Aesthetic Gum Lift

Your gum tissue plays an important role in your dental health. It supports your teeth. We want to help your tissue provide that support. When gum tissue becomes infected, it can not fight it, it can only pull away from the source of the infection. This often means pulling away from your teeth. People with bulky, excessive gum tissue, provide places for bacteria to hide. Bacteria, food debris, and plaque can become stuck under the nooks and crannies of bulky gum tissue. Brushing away these materials can be difficult, or sometimes even impossible. If you have extra gum tissue hanging over your teeth, we can help.

A gum lift is a simple procedure in which we carefully remove and reshape the gingival tissue around your teeth. We do this to remove hiding spots for disease causing bacteria. Many patients love the difference in how they look with smoother gums, and we love the healthier result.

Smile Makeover

A smile makeover is a complex treatment plan that we design custom for you. Each makeover can look entirely different because we look to enhance and improve your look specific to your needs. This means that you’re in control and you have options. Some treatments completed in a smile makeover may include:

•  Replacement of fillings
•  Addition of dental crowns or veneers
•  Repairs completed with composite bonding
•  Teeth whitening
•  Orthodontic appliance including clear aligners
•  Dental prosthetic such as a dental crown, bridge, or denture
•  Surgical placement of dental implants

Gum Grafting

Gum grafting is a treatment we perform for patients who have lost gum or gingival tissue due to periodontal disease. Your gum tissue is of high importance to the health of your teeth. When your gum tissue is damaged, receded, or diseased, it can lead to the loss of teeth. We can help you gain control of the infection and restore the health of your gum tissue through the grafting of healthy tissue.
