WHAT IS PERIODONTAL DISEASE?

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is a bacterial infection of the attachment fibers and bone that secure the teeth in the mouth.  Left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss and may contribute to other health problems.
